Cleaning And Repairs
We expect to have to do light cleaning and touch-up paint when you move out. This isconsidered “normal wear and tear”. Things that are NOT normal wear and tear include:
-Repairing “damage” – holes in drywall or doors, broken fixtures, broken windows-Animal damage (chewed/scratched walls or trim, urine or feces, etc)-Removal of more than one “shopping bag” of personal items, trash, or debris-Cleaning other than light vacuuming-Full re-paint-Replace window blindsWhen you move in, your home will have been broom-swept and/or vacuumed,appliances and fixtures wiped down, window blinds intact, and no trash or personalitems on the property. We take a photo of each room and have you sign it to verifycondition. We expect the home to be left as close to how you found it as humanlypossible.
You are responsible for maintaining your yard. This means mowing regularly duringwarm months (so grass never exceeds 8” tall). This also includes trimming along thefoundation, walkways, curbs, etc. so these areas are not taller than the rest of the yard.This may also mean removing any leaves in the fall. We trim bushes and provide mulchas needed.
Your lease includes a price list of common cleaning and repair jobs that we encounter –note that these items are not cheap. If you create work for us, be prepared to pay for it.
Your CHEAPEST option is to take pride in your home – clean regularly and usecommon sense to not create damage. We WANT to refund your full security depositwhen you move out – it is easier for us that way!
